Manuscripts of Synagogue Music from the Eighteen Hundreds.
This volume is the product of research conducted at the Terracini Jewish Archive and at the Jerusalem National Library. The author reconstructs the musical activity of the Saluzzo choir, created by Rabbi Beniamino Artom in 1859, and of the Synagogue of Asti’s Music School, founded a few years earlier. Beyond an ample preface, the volume (214p) contains the catalogue of the manuscripts with detailed indexes and musical incipit.
