Song of Happiness – Temptation
Basic Sound
The composition "Two Movements" by Kees Vlak already points in its title to a conscious division into two parts, which was musically very rich in contrast.
The first movement "Song of Happiness" is very melodious and can be interpreted wonderfully "cantabile". Very abruptly the second movement with the title "Temptation" follows in immediate connection. This part forms an effective contrast and contains in its Allegro agitato fast and powerful passages. The whole thing leads into a grandioso and lets the composition end impressively.
BASIC SOUND From S to XXL - music for every wind orchestra line-up
With "Basic Sound", the music publisher RUNDEL has created a series that offers brass orchestras of the lower and middle school an interesting and varied repertoire - and that for the most varied instrumentation sizes, from S to XXL.
Due to the basic instrumentation (the "Basic Sound"), performances are possible even with minimal instrumentation. The "Basic Sound" instrumentation is immediately recognizable in the score, since the voices required in any case are clearly marked by a frame.
The smallest size (S) for "Basic Sound" consists of the following instruments: a flute, two clarinets, an alto saxophone, two trumpets, a trombone, a baritone/euphonium, a tuba and percussion. Each issue also contains an extensive voice set (XXL). Thus, the works of the "Basic Sound" series can be individually adapted to the respective orchestra instrumentation.
