Rhapsodie Provencale

Kees Vlak describes his musical impressions of Provençe in the "Rhapsodie Provençale". Provençe is one of the most popular regions in France and has always attracted many people with its pleasant climate, varied landscape and good cuisine.

The work begins with a folk song, played by all instruments in unison. This is to express the simplicity of the people. This is followed by a lullaby, which is first performed as a solo by the alto saxophone or English horn and later by the entire Tutti orchestra. The finale is a fast Farandole, a typical French dance.
