Mit seinem Klarinettenkonzert c-moll von 1809 präsentieren wir erstmals ein Werk Louis Spohrs in unserem Verlagskatalog. Das erste aus einer Reihe von vier Konzerten, die Spohr für den Virtuosen Johann Simon Hermstedt verfasste, hat bis heute nichts von seinem romantischen Zauber verloren und gehört zum Standardrepertoire jedes Klarinettisten.
Unsere Edition wertet neben der Leipziger Erstausgabe von 1812 erstmals auch die inzwischen wiederentdeckte autographe Partitur Spohrs aus und kann so zahlreiche Ungenauigkeiten früherer Ausgaben beseitigen. Der von Christoph Sobanski neu erstellte Klavierauszug ist besonders gut spielbar.
