Henry Purcell schrieb mehrere Werke zu Ehren der Heiligen Cäcilia, Schutzpatronin der Kirchenmusik. Das wohl bekannteste darunter ist "Hail! Bright Cecilia" (1692), bei dessen Uraufführung Purcell selbst den Solopart übernahm. "Welcome to all the pleasures" entstand 1683 zu einem Text von Christopher Fishburn.
Das Werk erscheint nun als Klavierauszug zur Partitur, die bei Eulenburg erschienen ist (ETP 1062). Das Orchestermaterial ist bei Breitkopf & Härtel erhältlich.
