Eigentlich ist eine Kirche ein Ort der Ruhe, des Gebets und der Meditation. Das Gegenteil ist der Fall in Giacomo Puccinis Oper Tosca: Er verwandelt die römische Basilika Sant’ Andrea in einen Spielplatz für versteckte Rebellen, eifersüchtige Liebhaber, frömmlerische Freskenmaler und eindringende Polizisten. Am Ende des ersten Aktes singen jedoch die Chorjungen und Ministranten ein feierliches Te Deum, in welches der Polizist Scarpia einstimmt. Johan de Meij setzte die berühmte Melodie geschickt für Blasorchester um.
