Wolfgang Amadeus Mozarts „Missa in C“ KV 257 erhielt in ihrer Geschichte vielerlei Beinamen. Als „Große Credo-Messe“ bekannt, wurde sie von Leopold Mozart aufgrund ihres Umfangs als „Missa longa“ bezeichnet. Üblicherweise verwendete Mozart für seine Messen gerne die Nomenklatur „Missa solemnis“, wobei er für die Bezeichnung seiner „Großen Credo-Messe“ unbekannte Gründe gegen die Verwendung dieses Titel hatte. Da sie anlässlich der Weihe des Salzburger Domherrn Ignaz Joseph Graf von Spaur komponiert wurde, nannte Leopold sie auch „Spaur-Messe“.
