Klavier
Solostimme
A virtuoso masterwork for the piano written in 1949 and first published in 1952 by Mercury Music Corp. It is now brought back into print again for the 1981 International American Music Piano Competition co-sponsored by Carnegie Hall and The Rockefeller Foundation as part of the competition's required repertory of American works under 15 minutes composed between 1900 and 1960. FOR THE PIANO undeniably deserves a great deal more exposure, for its dazzling style and forthright and expressive writing for the piano is supported by a sensitive and idiomatic understanding of the pianistic tradition that make it a performer's delight.(NOTE: The official information booklet of the 1981Competition incorrectly lists Mercury Music Corporation, and is available only from its sole distributor, Theodore Presser Company). For 1981 Rockefeller Foundation/Carnegie Hall International Piano Competition, studios, colleges, libraries, professional. Difficult.
