Für Frauenchor SSA (TB ad lib.) und Streichquartett (Kontrabass ad lib.)
Wie der Name schon andeutet, hat die Missa Popularis ihre musikalischen Wurzeln in der Volksmusik. Dies wird gleich in den ersten Takten des Kyrie deutlich, wo über einem Ostinato im Bass die Violine eine Melodie im Stile einer schwedischen Weise spielt.
Der musikalische Reiz der Messe beruht auf der Kombination von Chor SSA (TB) und Streichquartett. Die Anlage der Chorstimmen ermöglicht sowohl eine Aufführung mit Frauenchor als auch mit gemischtem Chor. In diesem Fall verstärkt ein Kontrabass das Streichquartett.
Die Fassung für Frauenchor wurde am 25. April 2015 in Posen vom Mädchenchor SKOWRONIKI unter der Leitung von Alicja Szeluga uraufgeführt. (Schwierigkeitsgrad: mittelschwer)
