The first songbook by Abdullah Ibrahim contains 15 atmospheric songs for piano. African Songs – draws on pulsing rhythms, bluesy melodies and evocative ballads. Abdullah Ibrahim was born in Capetown. His musical roots are firmly planted in jazz and gospel music and in the traditional music of his native country of South Africa. For this songbook 15 song improvisations have been faithfully transcribed.
