Hofers "Psalmi brevi", ein brillantes "Concertato" von fünfstimmigem gemischten Chor (SSATB), Streicher und Orgel umfasst sieben Sätze (Sonata, Dixit Dominus, Confitebor, Beatus Vir, Laudate Pueri, Laudate Dominum, Magnificat), welche auf Grund der Texte in verschiedenen, eine reichere musikalische Ausgestaltung erheischenden festlichen Gelegenheiten angemessen sind und daher bei Bedarf auch einzeln aufgeführt werden können. Die vorliegende Ausgabe basiert auf einem handschriftlichen Stimmensatz aus dem späten 17. Jahrhundert.
