Barcarole op. 46
Adolphe Gutmann wurde 1819 in Heidelberg geboren und starb 1882 in La Spezia. Im Alter von 15 Jahren kam er nach Paris um bei Frederik Chopin zu studieren. Chopin ermöglichte ihm Auftritte mit anderen Komponisten und Künstlern, auch war Gutmann später als guter Freund Chopins der Widmungsträger des Scherzo op. 39 von Chopin, welches 1839 veröffentlicht wurde. Gutmann fungierte als Kopist für viele Chopin-Werke, seine Etüden op. 12 hat Gutmann Chopin gewidmet.
