Tímea Dragony (b. 1976) started her studies in Nyíregyháza as member of the Cantemus choir and graduated in composition at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music under György Orbán, then had been supported for two years by the Academie Musicale de Villecroze (France).
She won the 1st Prize of the so-called Petőfi ‚Quodlibet’ composer competition, and the 2nd Prize of the Arany János competition.
Her ballet-music entitled Gyöngyhalászok was presented in the Erkel Theatre, Budapest. In 2017, her cantata Estharangok and orchestral piece Crann Bethadh were premiered at the Liszt Academy, performed by the Hungarian Radio Orchestra.
