Charles Camilleri (1931-2009) was a Maltese composer and academic. His compositions were often inspired by the folk traditions of his native Malta, which in turn drew on a melting-pot of European, Mediterranean andAfrican cultures. He was also Professor of Composition at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, and later became the first Professor of Music at the University of Malta.
Divertimento No.2 was written for solo Clarinet with Piano in three movements, the first of which features on the ABRSM Grade 8 Syllabus for Clarinet. It is a light-hearted work, which would also be suitable for any recitalorconcert.
