Mit den Salsa Bells hat der Hollywood-Komponist Benedikt Brydern einen hitverdächtigen Programmpunkt für Ihr Weihnachtskonzert geschrieben: Inspiriert von lateinamerikanischen Formen hat er das eingängige Thema stilistisch wie rhythmisch variiert und ihm dabei neuen Glanz verliehen.
Die Salsa Bells sind schon für Streicher allein aufführbar; noch näher an den Klang der Traumfabrik kommt jedoch die volle Besetzung. Die Streicher bewegen sich ausschließlich in der ersten Lage; die Viola kann durch eine 3. Violine ersetzt werden.
