Born Free is a popular song with music by John Barry, and lyrics by Don Black. It was written for the 1966 film of the same name. This film was about a husband and wife raising a lion cub in Africa. Barry's expressive arrangements and melodies convey the vibrant and dangerous aspects of African wildlife. Like the film itself, Born Free's score is lively and moving without becoming forced or saccharine.
