Piano Method
Johann Sebastian Bach was a German composer and musician of the Baroque period. He enriched established German styles through his skill in counterpoint, harmonic and motivic organisation, and the adaptation of rhythms, forms, and textures from abroad, particularly from Italy and France. His music is revered for its technical command, artistic beauty, and intellectual depth.
Bach composed widely for the harpsichord, producingnumerous inventions, suites, fugues, partitas and overtures. The composer wrote 15 inventions as exercises for his son, Wilhelm Friedemann Bach, later adding a set of 15 Three-Part Inventions, which hecalled‘sinfonias’ (not to be confused with symphonies). Edited by W. Mason the 15 pieces for Piano form part of the ‘Schirmer's Library Of Musical Classics’ series.
