Besetzung:
Christoph Willibald Glucks vieraktige Oper über den Fluch der Tantaliden basiert auf einer Tragödie des klassischen griechischen Dramatikers Euripides. Das mythologische Sujet über die Geschwister Iphigenie und Orest mit den Ingredienzen Hass, Opfertod und Mord erfreute sich besonders im 18. Jahrhundert großer Beliebtheit. Der Premiere von Glucks Vertonung 1779 war ein enormer Erfolg beschieden.
Bei Bärenreiter erscheint nun der sorgfältig überarbeitete, korrigierte und an die aktuellen Bärenreiter-Standards angepasste Klavierauszug im Neusatz. Ein informatives Vorwort (dt./engl./frz.) ergänzt die Ausgabe, die sämtliche Anhänge des zugrundeliegenden Partiturbandes der Gluck-Gesamtausgabe enthält.
