For the work valo joka (“the light, which”) both the poem by Saila Susiluoto and the composition by Lotta Wennäkoski were commissioned at the same time, and thus they were created partly overlapping and influencing each other. The unusual process produced an intense duet in which virtuosity and rich timbres create a strong arc on the fragile borderline of light and darkness.
