Always interested in national music of other countries Gilbert wrote an atmospheric piece Fete Basque describing a festival in the Basque region of South-West France. This intoxicatingly optimistic piece, full of Mediterranean sunshine, has been arranged for wind band by Kevin G. Lamb. (Grade 5).
