Glorioso was commissioned by and is dedicated to the Siena Wind Orchestra. After a short, aleatoric introduction, the work begins with a lively brass fanfare on only one note. The tone F is omnipresent and leads into the slow, rather static movement. After the noble-sounding theme has led to an impressive climax, the fantastic and virtuoso finale is made up of the previously played elements.
