Description

Peter I. Tchaikovsky wrote Trois Morceaux op. 9 for piano in 1870: the third of these in D minor is titled ‘Mazurka de salon’. This is a reworked setting of a movement from his stage work ‘Dmitry the Pretender and Vasily Shuysky’, the ‘Introduction and Mazurka from the dramatic historical chronicle by Aleksandr N.
