Soothing and soulful, A Lament is based on a solo of the same title and speaks in a vivid and descriptive language of a lullaby that is also a permanent goodbye. As a reflection of his heritage (Indian) and history, the music blends elements of traditional Western harmony with characteristics of Indian raga and the technique of kan-swar (grace notes or a small quantity of a note).
