Starting with a fanfare, this overture quickly moves into a lively melody reminiscent of Holst.  Varying meters and levels of rhythmic complexity create demands for mature players while the inner parts are at younger player levels.  This is the perfect selection for a district-wide band performance or for bands with a wider variety of student abilities.  A great concert opener or contest selection!
