The Planetarium was commissioned by the CMV Advendo Franeker music association to mark its 100th anniversary in 2022. The world-famous Royal Eise-Eisinga Planetarium in Franeker (Netherlands), the orchestra's home town, served as inspiration for the work. In this continuous work in seven movements, the composer depicts the sun as well as the planets Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn.
