To invoke the Holy Spirit is the central moment of the motet, which is based on a medieval Pentecostal hymn and combines counterpoint and modern harmony. Mattias Sjöberg wrote the work for the Pentecost of Uppsala Cathedral, where it was premiered on 19 May 2013 by the Uppsala Cathedral singers under the direction of Ulric Andersson.
