Description
Robert Schumann composed Highland Lullaby in 1840; he took his text from Robert Burns' poem concerning the son of a Scottish leader. The Soldier's Song, composed in 1844, is from a satirical text by Hoffmann von Fallerslaben; Schumann's tune is distinctly militaristic.
