In 1956, Shostakovich's confidant Levon Atovmyan put together the Second Suite for Jazz Orchestra. Atovmyan rearranged a total of eight pieces from Dmitri Shostakovich's film scores and stage works, including excerpts from Korsinkina's Adventures, The Hornet, The Bright Brook, Maxim's Return and The First Season.
