Scheinpflug’s compositions are unlikely to have received much notice beyond Rudolstadt itself. While still wholly orientated towards the Baroque cantata in formal terms, the music departs from the strict polyphonic technique of Baroque composition towards the Classical style. The division of the cantata into two parts suggests that it was performed before and after the sermon.
