Description

Scarlatti's opera Eraclea premiered in Naples on 7 February 1700 and has been lost. Only copies of individual movements have survived. The aria "Fatale è quest'impero" has survived as a single piece. In terms of range, the work could also have been intended for D trumpet instead of alto recorder.
