Description

Richard the Lionheart son of King Henry II of England and Eleanor of Aquitaine was King of England from 1189 to 1199. His heroic deeds were recounted by the poets of the Middle Ages, who described him as a champion of the Christian faith and an intrepid and courageous soldier.
