Rimsky-Korsakov wrote concerto's for Oboe, Clarinet and Trombone and Military Band. The Concerto for Oboe (Variations for Oboe) is now edited by Marc Koninkx for the instrumentation of a modern Symphonic Windorchestra. In this edition the original Oboe part is played by a Soprano Saxophone.
