Poseidon was the God of the Sea, but was also known as an ‘Earth-Shaker’. He lived in a wonderful palace under the sea and married Amphitrite, whom he was not very faithful to. With his huge trident he shook waves and caused storms, horrible weather and floods. He rode the waves in his golden carriage, carried by white horses with golden manes, without getting wet!
