"Solo for Oboe" was composed as a compulsory piece for this year's ARD music competition. The virtuoso aspect does not dominate the music, however, as the cantabile potential of the instrument is brought to the fore. With its impressionistic corner sections it is an ideal concert piece to combine with the standard chamber music repertoire.
