Written in 1994 by minimalist composer Steve Reich, Nagoya Marimbas, for two Marimbas, reflects the style of some of the composer’s earlier compositions from the 1960s and ‘70s, in as far as there are repeating patternsplayed on both marimbas, one or more beats out of phase, creating a series of two part unison canons.
