This short fantasia is a vivid interpretation of the ‘Annunciation of the Lord’. Maria receives the news from Archangel Gabriel that she will conceive a child who will be called the ‘Son of the Highest’. The idea of the myriad number of different and almost incomprehensible emotions experienced by Mary provided inspiration for this work – a fireworks of synapses arise instead of clearly portrayed moods.
