Ciaccona (dalla 2 Partita BWV 1004)

Currently in the world there are only two transcriptions for Harp of the famous Ciaccona by Johann Sebastian Bach. The first, in order of time, is that of D. Owens (1974) prepared for a high register of the instrument, where sound harmonics are widely used.

The second transcription (2016) is published by Arpeggiando, thanks to the extraordinary and splendid work of Emanuela Degli Esposti, who placed the theme’s exposition one octave below the violin, so that the Harp can offer its maximum sonority and the best sound density. Of great difficulty, this is a must-see score for those who want to experience the music of J. S. Bach.
