Carol of the Bells

This originally Ukrainian folk song became famous mainly through the film „Home Alone". In this arrangement, various 'bells' of the percussion instrumentarium are made to sound. The introduction is meant to imitate the ringing of church bells. Of particular note is the interplay between the main theme and the non-original secondary theme.

A set of handbells to press with the following notes is required for the performance: A1, B1, C2, D2, E2, F2, F#2, G2, A2, B2, C3. These are placed in a row on a table in front of the two players. Alternatively, these two parts can also be played by one person on a second glockenspiel or alto glockenspiel. The marimba is played by two people, but it can also be played by a single person or optionally by a piano. The tubular bell part is optional.
