Astor Piazolla, the most important representative of modern tango, had the ability to convey the magic of this dance - a mixture of mysticism and sin, seduction and rejection, attraction and cruelty as well as rhythm and eroticism. Oblivion composed Piazolla in 1984 for the film Heinrich IV by the Italian director Marco Bellocchio; in this extremely gentle and longing piece the taut rhythm of the tango leaves enough room for a lyrical, contemplative melody.
