There are only few concerto's for recorder and orchestra. One problem to overcome is the fact that a traditional recorder quickly gets overpowered by the orchestra. This is remedied in part by using a special "eagle" recorder (invented by Adriana Breukink) and by clever orchestration. This concerto by talented Italian composer Vito Palumbo shows the wonderful expressive possibilities of the recorder in concert with a full blown symphony orchestra!
