Written in 1817 by Paganini, the 24 Caprices represent milestones of high violin virtuosity, today as they did when they were composed. The last of them, no. 24, was also elaborated by Rachmaninov in his “Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini”. With this piece for symphonic band, according to expressive indications by Paganini himself, when he wrote “imitating the flute” or “imitating the horn”, we want to pay homage to the great Genoese violinist with a modern arrangement for musical band.
