“Estonian Lullaby” for violin and piano is Arvo Pärt’s newest arrangement of this delightful piece from “Two Lullabies” (UE 32749). Originally composed for a female voice and piano, it is based on a folk song; the composer has smoothened the original melodic line and translated it into his distinctive, unpretentious sound. The character of the female voice is preserved in the very delicate transformation for violin.
