This work was awarded the Young Composer Prize and the Zen-on Prize at the 41st Gen-on Composition Competition for Young Composers, a competition organized by the Japan Society for Contemporary Music. The theme of the 41st competition was „Chamber Music with Vocals“. „Raskolnikow“ is a poem from Kyojiro Hagiwara's poetry collection „Todesurteil“, which was published in 1925.
