By exploring original compositions and arranging jazz standards, New West Guitar Quartet established themselves as a notable jazz group when they were all music students at the University of Southern California under the direction of guitarist Pat Kelley. Since the group started in 2003, they have performed in major venues throughout the USA, Canada, Japan and Europe, and worked with guitarists such as Pat Metheny, Joe Diorio and Bruce Forman.
