The piece was commissioned by the Norwegian violinist Henning Kraggerud and the Vestfold Inter-national Festival. The premiere took place at June 5th, 2010 in conjunction with an exhibition of Munch’s work. The piece refers to one of fifteen paintings by Edvard Munch. Each painting was “set to music” by a different composer. My piece is based on the painting “Kvinner” (Women).
