This work, originally scored for solo trumpet with concert band accompaniment, is dedicated to my friend Tim Nemzin. It was the result of a conversation we had at the 2016 Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic. While writing the piece, I occasionally sent Tim copies of my drafts. He would record himself playing, we would discuss the results, and then make changes as we saw fit. The result was a premiere performance with Tim and the Joe E.
