Ludwig Milde (1849¬–1913) studied bassoon and composition at the Prague Conservatory. He was later employed as solo bassoonist and teacher in his native city. Thanks to his works and etudes, he is regarded as the torchbearer of the Prague bassoon school. The Drei Studien for bassoon and piano presented here are effective practice and recital pieces.
