Freddie Mercury was actually born Frederick Bulsara in Zanzibar, Tanzania, in 1946. After several attempts at becoming successful with other bands and as a solo artist, he formed the now legendary band Queen in 1971. Since then Queen’s hits have defi ned entire generations.
