"Sinfonia Brevis" was composed in 1995 as a commission of the Central Music Corps of the Czech Army. Zdenek Lukaš had already written a number of smaller works for this Prague orchestra and now used the experience he had gained with the sound medium "Symphonic Wind Orchestra".
