The core of Kyllönen's output consists of chamber, choral and vocal music. His works are marked by highly natural, idiomatic writing for his chosen instruments (voice included), the melodic expression often being of focal importance. Fantasia (composed in 1991) was written for the 20th anniversary as an artist of flautist Ilari Lehtinen.
